The benefits of membership are highlighted in this LibGuide.

Membership Fees

Please also see this overview of our resources and services for recent law graduates.

An annual borrowers’ fee will be charged to each user for checking out library materials for home or office use. The amount of fees charged is consistent with the norms practiced by other similar public law libraries in the country (e.g. Minneapolis, Seattle, and San Diego).

Policies & Instructions

The ACLL’s membership fee structure is based on the premise that research performed by one attorney in a firm benefits the entire organization.  Therefore, law firms and corporate legal departments are required to join at the 100% level.  Participation at the 100% level means that the borrowers’ dues are paid for every attorney in the local office of the firm.  In addition, vendor contracts require us to report a total number of local attorneys at the membership firm. Similarly, a recent law school graduate employed by a non-member firm will not qualify for our complimentary membership unless the other attorneys in that firm also become ACLL members.

Membership fees run on a calendar year.  All individuals will receive his/her own library card.  Payment is due by January 31st.

Reduced price cards are available for $50 from August 1st to October 31st and expire January 31st of the following year. Emeritus attorneys pay $45 and non-profit attorneys pay $40.

Report lost or stolen cards immediately; a $5 fee will be charged for a replacement.

Please complete our online application form. When you submit the form you will be re-directed to our secure payment site to complete the payment with a credit/debit card or e-check.

Borrowers' dues are based on the total number of lawyers in the law firm's local office.
Please include librarian, secretary, paralegal, law clerk, messenger, etc including each individual’s email address and phone number.
After you hit submit, you will be directed to the site for payment.
