ACLL Public Services

Members of the general public are welcome to visit  the library to perform their legal research. At Allegheny County Law Library, guests can

  • Locate applicable laws, regulations, cases, and forms

  • Use their Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh or Allegheny County Library Association library card to check out materials

  • Use legal databases on-site, including Westlaw and Lexis

  • Get assistance from our friendly and knowledgeable staff

  • Find definitions of legal terms

  • Identify resources relating to your legal issue

  • Get contact information for legal representation agencies including modest means (based on income) and pro bono (free)

  • Use our free Wi-Fi for legal research-related tasks

Additional services are available to library members, including  remote access to library research databases and free CLE courses throughout the year.
